This article from Daily Wireless – Hacking Starbucks, is pretty interesting.
I don’t think a proof of concept is needed, as I think it is blatantly obvious. However, it does make you think for a minute or two about the possible injection of a deauth, and reassign the target via dhcp.
Another thing that I’ve been reading up on, wireless security, with WEP. I can’t understand why people even bother with wireless if they don’t secure it. Especially in areas with high traffic, like Starbucks. There’s a WEP encrypted system which is just asking for trouble.
Use a randomly generated password for WPA, here’s a good starting point random generator at Steve Gibson’s website www.grc.org
Another tidbit of fun, just as a honeypot, fake AP.
